What to expect on your first visit

Your new patient visit will include a thorough dental examination.  In this way we are able to diagnose your unique dental needs, discover your wants and talk with you about how we might fulfill them.  The doctor will examine your mouth for signs of oral cancer and dental abnormalities (such as decay, missing teeth, jaw dysfunction and any defective fillings).  In addition, the doctor will be doing a full periodontal (gum) screening to determine if any disease is present.  In order to be as thorough as possible, radiographs (x-rays) will be taken.  A full mouth x-ray is recommended by the American Dental Association every five years.  If you have had x-rays taken recently, please bring them with you or contact our office now so we can have them sent from another office.

For those patients who have had regular dental care within the last 6 months, you may request to do a routine cleaning at this same visit.

Children receive an examination of their teeth and gums, two cavity-detecting x-rays and (if 5 or older) a dental development x-ray, cleaning and fluoride, as well as brushing instructions.  The doctor will also evaluate the dental arch to see if there may be a need for orthodontics (braces) in the future.

If you are being seen for a dental emergency, the dentist will examine the area and any necessary x-rays. They will then be able to tell you what needs to be done and any additional fees necessary.

We accept cash, personal checks, Visa, and Mastercard.  We will file your insurance for you (although you will be responsible for any fees that your insurance will not pay) and we also offer pay plans and financing for qualifying treatment plans.

We will try to make your dental appointment as pleasurable an experience as possible.

Dentistry now offers many new opportunities for improved health, function and appearance that were unavailable only a few years ago.  Please do not ever hesitate to ask about anything you do not understand. You will be dealing with members of a team whose primary goal is to serve you. We look forward to seeing you.
